No - Tile Assembly Systems is not a manufacturer. An exclusive partnership(s) with a global tile retailer / manufacturer is currently being sought. The injection molded product will be provided through an exclusive partnership with our international supplier.
A USPTO patent was issued April 2023. A second patent for additional product designs is forthcoming.
Yes. The urethane material utilized is easily trimmed with a utility knife or via mechanical device.
No. All pictures on this website represent prototype parts that were manufactured through 3D printing methods. Preferred high-volume manufacturing will be through injection molding methodologies - producing parts of higher quality and more accurate tolerances than 3D printed methods. Other versions of this product, which have been designed to maximize product yield and cost effectiveness in manufacturing, will be shared with interested parties.
Yes - with flexibility of 2 to 3 mm. With size variance in mind, it is noted that rectified tiles, which can be produced with high accuracy of tolerance, will be the preferred product for this system, allowing injection molding tooling to be utilized for multiple colors, styles, and tile designs of the same family size. Tiles that are not rectified can also be used within this system - though injection molding tooling may need to be frequently adjusted to allow for slight size variances within manufactured tile lots / batches.
No. The integral grout column within this system is meant to replace the standard grouting process.
Yes. But only with a full thinset mortar installation. See METHODS OF INSTALLATION.
Yes. The click-together system creates a process that is easily installed, even for the beginner DIYer.
The 3D printed prototypes are partially watertight. But the production version will be completely watertight, designing injection molding tooling to exact tolerance, ensuring the necessary tight fit. A clear silicone sealant can also be designed for application onto the grout column, enhancing water tighntess.
